The Importance of Prayer

This is not an accident. It’s a product of cultivation. For Satan doesn’t mind if you read the Bible, just so long as you don’t pray. For then he knows all of that study will create in you a knowledge that will puff you up with pride that will make you virtually useless to God. And Satan doesn’t mind if we serve, just so as long as you don’t pray. For then he knows that service without prayer will make you very busy, but you will not be accomplishing very much.
